Booplet is your personal app library.
Whether you are a space enthusiast, a D&D fan, or a puzzle lover, you can easily create custom apps for your hobbies. Just describe what you want, and Booplet will help you create and edit an app. You can then use the app immediately, like any apps on your computer. You do not need to know how to code or deal with any technical setup.
Just describe, create, and use!
Because this is such a new way of creating apps, we wrote this guide to provide some tips and suggestions to help you create apps with your desired features and design.
If you have any questions not answered in this guide, feel free to reach out to us.
You need to sign up for an account and log in to create apps and use apps with AI features.
But after you have created your apps, you can use non-AI apps without logging in.
If you already know what you want your app to do, specify them so that Booplet knows what you want and can generate your desired app.
That being said, if you only have a rough idea of what you want and are happy to defer to Booplet, you can keep your description generic. Booplet will make some assumptions based on the description and create or edit the app. We were oftentimes pleasantly surprised by the results!
If you like the generated app, you can then modify it. Otherwise, you can create another one with the same description and see what you get.
By default, Booplet will generate modern-looking apps. But it is also great at creating different themes and designs. Sometimes, it would even find relevant images, such as a Pokeball or a cute Pikachu, to use.
This is a simple way to customize your app and make it personal to you. I personally found it fun to try various themes until I get something I love.
Booplet can create rather complicated apps that can do many things from a single description. But if it is struggling to create your desired app, try breaking the app into smaller chunks and creating it part by part.
From our experience, it's much easier to create complicated apps this way. It is also a lot more fun and feels more empowering to tweak the app iteratively, like a professional developer would.
If Booplet doesn't generate your desired app, feature, or theme, try phrasing your description differently. Again, being specific helps.
Whenever Booplet generates an edit that you don't like, you can easily revert to any previous version. Click on the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the app, and select a previous version.
You don't have to revert to the previous version. But this helps prevent your app from becoming bloated with unnecessary changes, which Booplet may or may not remove subsequently. So, if you don't like an edit, I'd recommend reverting to the previous version before making a new edit.
When you make a change to a previous version, any subsequent versions from that version will be overwritten by the new change.
If Booplet detects issues with your app, there will be a red exclamation mark added to the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the app. You can simply click the pencil icon and click "Try to fix" in the side panel. This will attempt to fix the issue for you, without you having to describe what the issue is.
If your app is working perfectly fine despite the warnings, you can mute the warnings.
If parts of your app aren't working, you can get Booplet to fix them for you. Describing the issue thoroughly increases the success rate of fixing the issue. Trying different phrasings will help, too.
Because it is so easy to create fully functional apps with Booplet in just a few steps, if Booplet failed to fix an issue after three tries, we recommend starting from scratch.
Figuratively speaking, starting from scratch and re-generating an app gives Booplet the opportunity to take a step back and rethink the app and potential issues.
Booplet comes with default safeguards that restrict the files and add-ons that your apps can access. By default, your apps can only access files in your Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folder. This can be changed in the security settings for every app or individual apps.
We will share more about Booplet's security considerations in the future. But please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
In any case, we are happy to help. Just reach out to us and let us know what you are hoping to achieve, what you have tried, and what you have gotten.
Because Booplet is still in beta preview, it likely has some rough edges and small issues. Do not hesitate to let us know if you encounter any problems. We will fix them as soon as possible. Thank you!
Now, go make yourself some apps!
